Shubman Gill is an Indian cricketer who competes in both international and domestic cricket from India and Punjab. He represented Kolkata Knight Rider in IPL. Performance in IPL makes him a popular cricketer. In the year 2018, he was vice-captain of the Under19 cricket world cup. He batted third number and with the help of Prithvi Shaw, they scored 418 runs on 104.50 averages. In the IPL 2018, he was the favourite of auctioneers, he was selected for Kolkata Knight Rider for Rs. 1.8 Crore.

Shubman Gill Biography
He was born on 8th Sep 1999 ( age: 24 years) in Punjab, India. Shubman Gill completed his initial study in school Manav Mangal Smart School, Mohali, Punjab. His parents always motivate and encourage him to play cricket; they never enforce study on him. Their parents can’t give him but his father builds turf in his field. The reason behind that is that Shubman Gill pursued his cricket career. Lakhwinder Singh Gill announced in his village that if anyone took the wicket of Shubman then he would give 100 rupees as a reward. They were relocating to Mohali to turn him into a professional cricketer. He also enrolled in the academy of Cricket under the Punjab Cricket Association. He also interested in farming when he was a child.

Career
In the year 2017, Shubman Gill played his list-A-match against Vidarba. It was his first match. He played for the Punjab Ranji Team, where Gill scored 50 in his first game then in the second he scored 129 runs. In the year 2018, in the Deodhar trophy, he scored a century which was unbeaten which helped India C to advance in the championship. In the first-class double century and playing for the Ranji trophy in December 2018 against Tamil Nadu, scored 268 runs.
At the age of 17, he made international debut in the U-19 Indian Cricket Team against England U-19 Team. He was chosen vice –captain in the U19 team. During the world cup Gill scored 90 runs from 59 balls and India defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in group B match. In the quarterfinal, Shubman Gill hit 86 off 94 balls and India won over Bangladesh by 113 runs. Shubman Gill hit 102 off 94 balls in the semifinal match against Pakistan. Gill became man of the match for that match. Final match was against Australia where he scored 30 runs off 30 balls and India won that match with an eight-wicket margin.
Shubman Gill’s cricket community was impressed by his performance in the U19 world cup and also in domestic cricket. In the year 2018, during the auction of IPL, Kolkata Knight Rider purchased him at the price of Rs. 1.8 Crore. In IPL he performed 499 runs with an average of 33.26.
In the year 2019, Gill made one-day international (ODI) cricket debut on 31st January 2019. That match was played at Hamilton Seddon Park against New Zealand. Starting his career from domestic cricket to U19 vice-captain was a good experience. He won the hearts of his fans.
