Anil Agarwal Early Life
He is an industrialist and chairman of Vedanta Limited. He was born on 24th January 1954 in Patna, Bihar. He was born in a lower-middle-class family. The financial condition of that family was not good. His Family was Marwari family in Patna, Bihar, India. Anil‘s father had an aluminium conductor-making small business. Anil completed his matriculation from Sir Ganesh Dutt Patliputra High School. At the age of 19, he left Patna and move to Mumbai to find better opportunities.

Anil Agarwal Career
In the year 1970, he collected scrap metal from cable companies and sold it in Mumbai. In the year 1976, he found an opportunity at Shamsher Sterling Corporation. He set up his company which manufacturer of jelly-filled cable. He found one drawback of that business fluctuation in price which affects business due to raw material of aluminium and copper. He decided to manufacture metal from his plant whether its buy from others.
The year 1993 Sterlite Industry becomes the first copper smelter and refinery industry. In the year 1995, his company Sterlite Industries acquired one sick company named Madras Aluminum. Madras Aluminium Company had been shut down for 4 years and held by (the BIFR) board of Industrial and financial reconstruction. The next step of the company was to focus on a mining firm. The company started acquiring other companies which made the firm a large-scale company. One opportunity got by the company was when the government announced a disinvestment program. In the year 2001 company acquire 51% of Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO) at the amount of INR 551.50 Crore. Another company which was Satte-run- HZL (Hindustan Zink limited) acquired by Anil’s company. Both companies had inefficient mining Firms.
After that acquired company wanted to reach the capital market. Anil Agarwal and his team include Vedanta Resource Plc in the year 2003 in London. Vedanta was the first Indian company listed on the London stock exchange, on 10 December 2003.
In the year 2004 company announce a global bond offering. Vedanta Resource Plc acquired Konkola copper mines in Zambia, Africa. This acquisition process made the company more stable in the market in financial terms.
Vedanta headquarter present in London. Now company deals in zinc, copper, iron ore, silver, power generation, oil, and gas.
Foundation of Anil Agarwal
The Anil Agarwal Foundation invested INR 5000 Crore in its foundation and main focus on healthcare, nutrition child and woman development. It also works in animal welfare and grassroots-level games. Their main target is “no one goes hungry to bed”
His project’ Nand Ghar’ this foundation provide shelter to 17 million people last five years and also help them with education, healthcare, and most important woman empowerment. This work on 80 million children and 20 million women through the Nand Ghar program.
