Education
He was originally a resident of Kutch in Gujarat. Premji received his education at Stanley College in Mumbai. Then later he moved to America and completed further studies there in Alt-Schule Basel, Switzerland. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of America USA. His father died before he could graduate in 1966, due to which he had to leave his studies and return home to take care of his business. After this, he completed his engineering again in the year 2000. That is, Azim Premji started handling his father’s business only at the age of 21. However, at that time his company exclusively worked in Hydrogenated oil manufacturing.

When Azim Premji returned to India, he decided to join his family business. In 1966, he started a new business endeavor as the commercial arm of Wipro Limited.
