After finishing his graduation he joined the Jindal Group. However, he was performing well in the company so he shifted to Mumbai to look after the business of the western region. O.P. Jindal decided that Sajjan would look after two facilities of turnaround operation; he wanted to test him. Top of that, Jindal performed well and passed the test that was given by his father, so he was promoted to Jindal Iron and Steel Company Limited in a year where he operated the manufacturing of Galvanized Sheet and Cold Rolled. After completing the target he was again promoted to Jindal Vijaynagar Steel Limited, Jindal Praxair Oxygen Ltd., Vijaynagar Minerals Private Limited, and JSW Energy Limited to manufacturing progress ensured by Sajjan in the year 1995.
