He debuted in the movie Betaab. He was nominated for Filmfare best actor. In the film Damini, he was offered a cameo role but after watching his acting he was selected for the lead role. His dialogue in the film created huge success in the film ‘Tarikh Pe Tarikh’. This film was the commercial hit of his career.
